Movie was great. Saw it on the IMAX. Saw it yesterday at buddies house. Man Heath stole the show IMO. I found myself both times waiting for when the Joker would show again, b/c his scenes were great. Really seemed like a sick, twisted man in that movie. I thought the same thing before I saw it. Thought it was getting hyped up b/c of Heath's death, but once I saw it, that all went out the window.
I will agree though. 10x better on the big screen. Dark theater sets the atmosphere up perfect for the Dark Knight.

the first Batman, with keaton and nickloson, was good for the comic book value, yet not over the top like the others.

I agree, the first batman was the best in my opinion as well, Jack Nicholson was great as the Joker. Actually, i think the first two Batman movies were great, Batman Returns with Danny Devito, i liked it. Those two movies had a real dark feel to them, every single Batman movie after those two (with the exception of the two newer ones) were just way to colorful and flashy, they sucked.

I like how Batman Begins and the Dark Knight brought the series back to a darker side, both decent movies in my opinion.

I cannot disagree more. Dark Knight was amazing, and I don't watch TV so I was not involved with the hype about it.

I thought Ledger's performance was outstanding, and he stole the show. He created a realistic gritty Joker, to match the new direction Batman has taken.

In fact, I was actually worried people who delude any award or achievement he would surely receive from this movie because of his passing and that some people would assume it was for pity. His performance was excellent regardless and should stand on its own.

I thought it could have; and honestly should have, ended about four different times. Near the end the movie got tiresome to me. I'm no Ledger fan but I think he did a good job as the Joker.

It was decent but definitely not anywhere near the hype. It shouldn't ended 45 minutes before it did.

Without Ledger I don't think I could have sat through the whole thing. His character was at a new level that I have never seen in a film without it ultimately feeling like the actor was trying to hard. I still don't understand the praise that Batman Begins still has by some, I slept through that one.

I took my oldest son (12) to see The Dark Knight at the theater this past summer and it scared him. He could not go to sleep that night. I had to go in and talk to him about how it was all makeup and computerized special effects. I think the phone in the chest scared him the most. He has no interest in seeing it again. LOL...
