Here's my question: Why did the FBI shut this down right now? Seems to me like they could be protecting some people. Shouldn't they have let this thing play out a little more? Why not wait until a few people came to the table offering money for the Senate seat. Give it some more time to see exactly who all could have been in involved and who was ponying up money for the seat.

Seems fishy to me that it was shut down this early in the deal. I know he's been under investigation for a few years, but this Senate seat for sale is the one Obama is vacating. It hasn't been "for sale" for very long.

This is I believe due to more than just trying to sell the vacant seat. If you read the complaint, Rezko's name is all over it. I think the selling of the seat is just the straw that finished it.

Also now there are questions about whether Obama and the Gov ever spoke about the vacant seat.

Axlerod said a few weeks ago that Obama and the Gov had spoke about the vacant seat, but Obama said today that he never spoke to Blagojevich. Of course Obama aides came out today and said Axlerod misspoke. I'd be very surprised if Obama was dumb enough to talk over the phone about this with the Gov, but it would not surprise me to see some involvement through intermediaries.

Sure would have been nice to hear about this a month down the road when all the "buyers" for the seat were jockying for a position.

You are right about this being the tip of the iceberg though. Unions and bosses are involved as well. This slug is going to jail for a long time. Hopefully he will turn and implicate everyone else.

Anyone else notice noone is talking about him being a Dem? If he were a Republican that would be the first thing you would hear in every report; "Republican Governor Blegojevich was implicated...."

I just heard on the news, "Governor Blegojevich a Democrat"...
That's different than Republican Governor Blegovich... but not much.

i noticed that too. i had no idea who he was. i was sitting in the chow hall up here at ft dix at lunch and it took cnn 20 minutes to mention he was a democrat or to mention his relation to obama. when that repub got caught in the bathroom giving hand signals to the next stall cnn made sure to mention every minute that he was gop/repub. i cant believe people think the media isnt biased.

The media is biased?!

I've known for a long time it was, but I used to use CNN as my primary source of news solely to give myself the "other" perspective and give myself fuel for argument....that is until this recent election coverage.

CNN's website was so outrageously out of control and biased for Obama that I literally couldn't handle it anymore. I now refuse to do them the favor of reading any of their news and getting them "pay per click" revenue.

Seems Jesse Jackson may have offered money to become the replacement for Obama.

I'd like nothing more than for Jackson, Farakhan, and Sharpton to be neck deep in "negotiations".

I heard the previous Governorn of Illinois is in prison. Maybe they could all be roomies!!

My mistake, in this case it is not Jesse Jackson, but Jesse Jackson Jr.

I wonder if it was daddy who was going to cough up the mil.

I'm watching Jesse Jackson Jr's lawyer on TV right now. It is almost hilarious. Of course they are claiming his innocence and suggesting that someone impersonating or acting like Jesse Jackson Jr (JJJ) could be at fault here.

He also stated that JJJ is "ENTITLED" to that Senate seat. I had to rewind that to be sure, but that is what he said!! He may only be entitled to a hot and a cot if this all comes to light.
