Well they sent a dude to get it from the railhead. BUT it doesn't have the Lariat grille and mirrors (Special Appearance package for the Atlanta, Orlando and a few others too). So I won't take it, I am trying to get them to swap them off the truck next to it. They want to order again, BS.

caddpro– Triple Dang! All that time waiting and it's still not right. Sorry for your disapointment. I'd be pretty close to postal about now. I sure hope something like this doesn't happen to me. I really feel like I'm between the proverbial rock and hard place. The local dealers have new trucks, but not at a good price. Mine is a good price, but I can't get it until December and maybe not until the end of the year!

Got-It ! ! ! ! !
They agreed to order the Honeycomb grille and swap them at their expense (just labor) the grilles cost the same. Boy you have to watch that finance guy like a hawk, first he tried to add disability insurance($14 month) then the extended warranty($1400), and finally life insurance($540). His excuse was most customers choose those items. Drove out @23300 inculding tax, tag, title.

caddpro, I know what you mean about watching the finance guy. He roped me into meteorite insurance ($490). I thought that was reasonable til I got home and read the fine print. It's only in effect on weekends.

After reading about all the changes you guys went through with ordering your trucks, I'm glad I bought off the lot...no need to wait and you know whats there. Dealers can locate and swap vehicles with other dealers, that's how I got mine. You just tell the dealer what you want and they will look for it...mine was here in two days in perfect condition and exactly what I wanted in options. Just a thought....

Well I started looking in july for a 99 and couldn't find one, got close but thought it would be worth the trouble to special order and get a 00. Last week I was frustrated, now I'm crusing (except my wife has it today)

After reading all of these post regarding everbody waiting for their 2000, I don't feel like I'm the only one anymore!! I ordered my 2000 F150 4X4 SC on August 28 and I'm still waiting!! The dealer told me it was built the week of 9/27 and it is now at a mixing center in St. Louis. They have been telling me for the last 3 weeks it should be here anyday now, but still no truck. The worst part is the dealer has received trucks that were built after mine!! Anybody seen a lost white/gold 2000 F150 4X4 looking for a home?? Forget this ordering stuff, next time I take one off the lot!!

Here in Oakville The site of Fords Canadian Headquarters and The Windstar (Ontario Assembly Plant) and F-150 ( Ontario Truck Plant) Allied Systems (Automotive Transport Truck Hualers) Has about 10,000 Windstars and F-150's in Offsite Storage Yards in and around the Oakville/Burlington Area (Just 20 minutes from Toronto). The Oakville Plant has the same Problem getting RAIL cars to ship the vehicles to there mostly U.S. destinations. Some Trucks and Vans are being rotated in the Stock ie. storing new builds while returning to the plant for rail shipping Vehicles (F-150s and Windstars) for Transport. Oakville ships about 80% by rail and the other 20% is Handled by Leaseway (Penske) and Allied Systems whom ship via AutoTransport Haulers (By Large Trucks) to destinations in Lewiston New York and Detriot Michigan. Some rail ramps are diverted to these Carriers.

When I asked the VOPC why my dealer had trucks built after mine and built at the same plant were on the lot and mine was not, they said that the last trucks out of the plant are the ones that are shipped first. That is kinda messed up.

LHM –

Same story from my dealer. What if your friendly grocery store stocked their dairy case that way?! I'm still hearing first week of December... or worst case, before the end of the year.

Sheese, it's gonna be a 2001 before too long.

Well I almost did something really silly last night. On my way home I stopped by another Ford dealer and lo and behold, there was a Lariat that was identical to the one I ordered, but a different color. I 'tactfully negotiated' my way down to within $2000 of what I'm paying for mine. (you know, the one I keep whining about that's stuck in a theme park lot in Kansas City).

I didn't buy it last night, but the more I think about it today, the more I'm tempted to go back with the ol' checkbook and do the deed.

What's anybody's advice out there? Should I spend more and get a truck today? Or should I wait and wait and wait (maybe until the end of December) and get what I ordered for less dough?

Wow... My dealer just called and said my truck is on a train and ought to be in Phoenix Monday or Tuesday next week. YeeHaww!

Now, hopefully it doesn't have a big 'ol dent in it or the wrong color or something! Gotta think positive... If it shows up next Mon. it'll be 88 days since I ordered it. Is that the record?
