Happy Thanksgiving!
As we sit here today talking about all the things we are thankful for lets not forget a very special set of folks out there. Folks that may not be home with their families. Folks that may, at this very moment, be in harms way. Folks that may just have being alive to be thankful for right now.
This group of men and women didn't give us the freedom to be thankful, that was given to us by a similar group of men many many years ago, but they sure as hell defend our right, privelege and honor to be thankful.
The group of people I speak of are none other then the soldiers that make up the greatest fighting force in all the world, The American Soliders.
When people are oppressed it is the American Solider that gets called to liberate them. When people are too weak to defend themselves it is the American Solider that gets called to defend them. When a countries freedoms are threatened it is the American Solider that gets called to stand shoulder to shoulder to protect those freedoms.
The American Solider does their job for little thanks. The American Solider does their job for barely enough money a year to buy a used car. The American Solider puts their familes second to yours and mine. Today's 20 year old American Solider see's more death and tragedy then most folks 2 or 3 times their age EVER will see.
So today after you have had a chance to celebrate with your family take a second and say a prayer, to whichever God it is you pray to, that The American Solider gets the same opportunity they have afforded us on this day. They don't answer to a political leader, they answer to a call to duty.
I for one am thankful to each and every one of them for the sacrafices they have made so that I may celebrate this day under the American Flag and the freedoms it represents.
God Bless.
