In college, as an elective (basket weaving was full) I took typing 5 times, failed 5 times. Still can't type the way the teacher wants but thats just too bad! I look at the screen when I type!

I type with all my fingers and not very fast either. I've got dyslexia and I have to reread a lot of what I type because it really gets messed up sometimes. Maybe that's why I have so many posts, because I'm going back to edit what I thought I typed the first, second and third time

I chicken-peck with multiple fingers. But never more than 6 fingers, the pinky and ring fingers never get any action. And the sad thing is, I do this for a living, I'm a computer programmer.

I'm a wiz typing. My fingers just fly! Took it in Grade 10 high school in the '60s, only because the teacher, Ms. Barb Bullman, had the biggest, nicest ***** you ever saw. I'll always remember them, I mean, her.

Typing's still the only thing I learned in high school that I remember or use to this day. It sure helps, because I've been a speech writer for Cabinet ministers here in Canada and my fingers can keep up with my mind when the B.S. starts to flow.

My second of the "new" F150s. Great trucks!

Thumbs up

I've been a serious programmer for almost 20 years, so I can definitely type -- the faster the better! It all started with typing loooong programs when I was a kid and then taking typing class in the 9th grade. Now I type without looking at the keyboard at over 120 wpm (last clocked speed anyway) -- including the top-row number keys. No 10-key pad for me -- that's the test of a true typist.

Here's a good 2nd part to the main question -- how many type fairly well using the top-row numbers instead of the 10-key?
