I'm not going to pass judgement on anybody else because I have myself done some questionable things in the past. I am adding to this thread to share a solution I have for people who tailgate or who like to flash their brights when behind me. First of all, I have a deep diamond plate toolbox that I keep polished, and I have removed my tailgate and have a quality net in it's place, so usually when someone flashes me, they get the worst of it. BUT, when that doesn't work, I also have two KC's mounted under my rear bumper that are wired, through a seperate switch, to my backup lights. The switch allows me to turn them on whenever I need to with out having to be in reverse. A quick flick of the switch usually gets their attention.
Take care,
-Chris

I only do it when someone truly deserves it (and there are no law enforcement vehicles in sight !).

First let me say that my wife leaves me alone when I'm on the computer but did just come in to help me off the floor from laughing. She even laughed too, Raoul.

I'm sorry to hear that you don't think you were wrong. So you slowed down when he high beamed you (I probably would've done that too), I think that was enough to let him know you were upset but you didn't have to damage his car and who knows, maybe injured them.

There's a case currently on the news where someone sped up, changed lanes, and slammed on their brakes to teach someone a lesson, unfortunatley a tractor trailer ended up rolling over a motorcycle. Now the "teacher" is facing manslaughter charges.

PKRWUD,
Imagine the burn with aircraft landing lights! Just a thought. Anyway we don't
have that problem here in Miami, we all carry guns and just shoot it out. It's
called population control.
God I gotta get out of here (actually I just wish everyone else would leave).

Raoul scores again and again and again and again!

If it was a case of 'he highbeamed me, so I slowed down to a crawl in front of him' I would have never did what I did. It was the fact of him flipping on the high beams and riding my rear while I was going slow that caused me to do what I did. Sure I could have peeled off, which is what I did in the end, but riding someone's tail with your high beams on is quite dangerous and I thought what I did was somewhat fitting to the whole situation. He had his high beams even when I tossed the stones up at him.

The more I think about it, the more I think I should have gotten out and really road raged his butt... Up here in Canada it's very rare that people carry guns, especially old people like this guy driving out in the country.

Even though it is wrong to retaliate (some times), I'd just like to say one more time, I never instigated any of this, I respected him while he was driving the speed limit, he just had to get goofy when I passed him.

i have to tell this corey. many years ago when i was young and dumb. i had a person decide the motorcycle i was driving was going to slow or maybe he just wanted to be where i was. he looked right at me then ran me off the road. having some years exp with dirtbikes the ride was a challenge but survivable for me and the bike.
later that day i had to run an errand. decided to take my lifted dodge truck instead of the bike. this is a true story. when i turned onto the road i had been run off guess who i was next too.
his car didn't survive quite as well. i'm not proud of this although at the time i thought he got what he deserved. hope your "friend" doesn't remember you when he's in his kid's truck or whoever elses.

The day that I was bringing my newly born son home from the hospital I was driving extremely cautious as to not to jar the wife and Baby around, not to mention it was in a construction zone with poor road surfaces, when out of nowhere this old beater Nissan 4x4 whips out and around me just as the lane merged into one lane only. Just two hundred more feet and then a stop light. I move over as much as possible to let the idiot thru and when we have to stop at the light he gets out of his truck and is cussing me and says he's gonna whip my A$$.
So I reach for the glove box to get the cell phone and the wife is scratching down the plate # this guy just turns ghost white with fear, maybe he thought I was packing heat, turns out he had three outstanding warrants for arrest and was wanted in conjunction for alleged hit skip involving an injury to the other driver. I had the last laugh reading about that Sunday morning over coffee:-)

What you should have done is let him pass then ride his *** and have your brights on for a while then just blow on by and keep on going.

COREY, You should have blown past him and kept going.....think first..hint hint not worth it....

Pkrwud, Got a question..how do you know the guy you high beam from behind isnt a policeman.....??? My truck is unmarked and so is my forehead...Here it is..you blind the guy behind you, while his eyes are adjusting he runs off the road and kills himself or someone else...if you are caught you go to prison for murder...become your room mates girl friend...all over a pissing contest....worth it...dont think so...
Another story, about 4 years ago and drunk was messing with a fellow officer, off duty his own vehicle..did the guy know he was a police officer ? no!!! Well it got way out of hand with the guy trying to run the officer off the road..well the officer pulled out his glock and shot 1 time...got the other guy in the head..DOA...the officer said he was going to shot over the guys head to scare him.....how unlucky, he had to go to court although found not GUILTY..after 2 1/2 yrs of hell and no job..he finally got his job back and he is back on track....Is all that worth it...bet the officer will do something different next time....the other guy has no choice..by the way the officer shot thru his passenger window, where his brother was sitting..alot of hell for avoiding that road rage crap....
This was my 20 cents..nomore responses after this one.....becarefull and use your head..FIRST!!!!!!

If the reason you did this is based on your thinking that the person would not retaliate, because he was old and Canadian, then you really are a stupid coward, otherwise, you would have done it regardless of "who" it was driving the other vehicle...in which case you would of only been stupid.
