Talking

Sorry your feelings got hurt..... but coming from TEXAS I find it VERY AMUSING. Out of respect I'll try not too laugh to loud.

Cool

It took almost 3 minutes to download all the graphics, but it was worth it!

I regret that I don't get to travel through the Sooner state anymore, but the same story is pretty much valid in the route that I travel to Chicago and Lincoln Nebraska at least twice a year.

As a coincidence, there was a good historical piece on National Public Radio this evening on the origins and history of the Interstate Highway System. President Eisenhower may well turn over in his grave if he knew how his dream had turned into a pork barrel political sort of situation when the system was turned more or less over to local state/local politicians in the last 40 or so years.

Still, I can remember ever so well going across country many times in the 1944 to 1956 time frame as the son of a Marine Corps Officer who was transferred hither and yon every two years or so and having to travel on one or two lane roads for most of the way between California and Virginia or the Carolinas, not to mention going up or down both coasts on similar roads.

As bad as it is now, it is still a heck of a lot better than 50 years ago.

Don't feel bad Boss. My tears were from laughter too. I really think we should adopt those as our "REAL" state items.

Actually, you can't travel THROUGH the state. They've got it detoured through Kansas and Texas. Unless you don't mind 1 lane roads.

I was laughing quite loudly, too. Now all you need to do is add snow, winter winds and a little sleet blowing sideways for good measure and you have what I have - Northern Illinois (near Chicago) !!
