Looks the the Carter years were great too...
Interesting chart. Looks like from the highs of 1929 to the lows of 1933, the market lost over 89% during the Great Depression.

To match that level of drop, the Dow Jones would have to decline to about 1500 by 2011.

Lets cross our fingers it does not get anywhere near that bad, but I wish I could say it was not possible.
