I like the new AC/DC,
I haven't heard all of the new GnR. It only took 14 years to come out so what's another few months......
I'm really trying to give the new Metallica a chance. I'm still an old school fan.

Me too! I downloaded the entire album just before it came out and I'm still listening to it regularly..... AC/DC that is.
I can't stand the new Metallica. It all sounds exactly the same. I like the old stuff, One, Fade to Black, not this new way-too-fast-and-too-chaotic thing they've gone with. The only new AC/DC song I've heard is Rock and Roll Train, and I can't get enough of it.
I got fed up with all the commercials on FM and they never really play good music, plus like yall have all said they seem to play the same chit over and over. This is why i got sirius in september
screw FM!! I love it, have not listened to anything but sirius since.

I wonder if Metallica stuck with AC/DC's "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" mentality when it came to their music, would they be more popular?

But you will find with Octane for example, if you listen to it long enough you will hear the same song more than once a day.
Metallica is by far one of my favorite bands and yeah since the new CD came out they have been overplaying them just a little. I don't know how it is where you guys live but I quit listening to the country stations because Kenny Chesney gets played like every 10 minutes. I could turn on the radio right now and between the 2 major country stations I would put money on it that Kenny is on one of them. 90% of the time I have my Ipod on now anyways.
I hate to say it, but the songs your talking about are on the album that started Metallica on this downward spiral...The black album (i did like this album though). Listen to Kill em all, Masters of puppets, Ride the lightning, And Justice For All....very good, fast, thrashy metal. It seems like they were finally trying to get back to their old style they had before the black album, but James just does not have the bark in his voice he once did so it's not the same at all unfortunately.
On a different note, the new AC/DC is good. I'm glad they kept true to themselves. I like Sky's on Fire, good song..as well as a few others new ones i've heard so far.
If Metallica had done this they would have been better off IMO.
Oh and i forgot to add, The new Guns n Roses is horrid. Maybe that's why it's taken over a decade for them to make a release date, they just could not decide if they wanted to unleash this trash on the world lol...My opinion of course, to each his own.
