go vote today
It took only five minutes for me to vote!!! I guess everyone voted early.
I voted Libertarian, Barr. I was not going to vote for pres at all, but decided a wasted vote might be a better condemnation of the two major parties.
There were some important issues other than candidates. I voted no on all of them. We have enough add-on laws around here.
" That government is best which governs least."

I have not voted yet, I am waiting for the lunch crowd to finish up. I will be voting McCain, wife too...I too belive that Bush was not that bad. The economy was fine up until OPEC screwed us and the housing market crashed, which the democrats are partly to blame. I think McCain is going to pull this out..
Well, I voted at 10:15 AM.
Only 3 people in line ahead of me and doing the ballot took a lot longer than waiting in line.
For the first time in 11 elections, 44 years of voting, I voted for a Democrat for President. Not only that, I voted Democratic for our open Senate Seat as well.
Voted that way for a lot of reasons, some good, some bad I guess.
Although I was a longtime Republican and for the last 12 years an Independent, I agree with a number of Obama's positions and thus disagree with McCain. There was then a lot of ground they covered where they were, in my opinion, not so terribly far apart that it was a big food fight.
What brought me to vote the way I did basically boiled down to McCain's choice of a running mate and the scenarios that might play out should they win.
I would like to say here that I was amazed and pleased when he first picked Palin based on the very early information about her. That euphoria evaporated, for me, rather rapidly as the weeks unfolded. I personally am very uneasy thinking of her having anything to do with running our government in any position.
Which brings me to the scenarios that led me to vote for Obama.
There is the outside chance that McCain, at his age and with his health history might not last the full term. Slim chance, probably wouldn't happen but still a risk.
Assuming he does win and lasts the full term, we might be faced with his wishing to run for a second term. At 76 years of age
Assuming he chose not to run again and did not make a complete mess of his term, I would think that it would be reasonable to assume that Palin would claim the right to run for President. Should she get the nomination, that would rip it for me as far as the Republican party is concerned.
As I type this, my hands are truly a little shaky, I have voted straight Republican in every election I have participated in. This time, I let my Moderate views take the lead in some areas where I never really agreed with the Republican Party and I hope I have not made a mistake.
Believe me, it was not a decision easily reached and is not popular in my household. Both Pat and my sister in law voted for McCain today and the mood in the house is a little strained just now.
Should be an interesting evening/night.

Quoting Bill Murray, " Should be an interesting evening/night. "
Relax, that's no so bad. I have my inlaws here for the week. They are McCain supporters, and are the most conservative people I know. Their daughter, my wife, voted for Obama and I just told them that I voted Libertarian. Yes, things are warming up.

Voted McCain because I believe he can lead the country in the right direction, he will not give up on the middle east, he will keep America safe.
B. Hussain Obama will do all the opposite.
