Wireless Router

Our 4 year old Netgear Router has decided to take a dump on us. I guess 4 years is pretty good. What brand does everyone like or use on here? How much am I looking at spending to replace?

I just replaced my old Netgear router with the Netgear Rangemax. It works great throughout my entire house.

amazon has it for $64. http://www.amazon.com/NETGEAR-WPN824...dp/B0007U9KAY#

I've only used Linksys. I just recently upgraded. I was using a wireless B router for years. It was about time to upgrade.

Been using Linksys with no problems whatsoever.

I've used them all. Netgear is good but give the Linksys a try

Does Netgear have any advantages over Linksys, or vice versa?

D-Link at home and it was only $50.. Has a built in firewall, but I think most of them do now a days... At work, I have a Netgear VPN firewall and a Netgear wireless access point setup. Going to be replacing them in a little bit and going with either a Barracuda or a WatchGuard setup.

ive used both netgear (my place) and linksys (my moms) and both work great for my laptop. As for gaming, ive always hardwired my xbox to the router, so I cant speak to that.

I have used both netgear and linksys and I prefer netgear because it seems to be built better in a side by side comparison. Netgear seems to have more selection but linksys is usually cheaper.

Linksys here. My first one (2003) had 2 boxes, router and the modem. That lasted up until about a year ago. I bought the new Lynksys which is only one box. Works great in the house or outside. 70 bucks I believe.

I too have had Linksys for almost 5 years, bith at home and the wife's business, and recently decided to switch both due to range issues.

I switched both to The RangeMax Next Wireless-N Access Point and am very happy.

Brilliant in every way but the wireless range is truly outstanding.

Good luck in your decision.
