I didn't think it had trickled down to the "lower" sets yet..... even though I was sure it would eventually.

Its a great example of trickle down economics, right??

yes it is, and yes it has. Lg has it also, but there's....well....sucks to say they least. haha. They have a demo built in the tv, and it looks no different other than ticker text (ie: cnn or sports) is easier to read, but actual video from movies or the like is exactly the same.

I'm still standing by my Aquos. The Samsungs seem to kinda be like our trucks, for the most part they are all good, but then they get a couple crappy ones that break time and time again mixed in there. I upgraded from my 46" to a 52" Aquos and the picture is still amazing with 27,000:1 contrast ration the blacks are truly black. I love watching baseball games on it, better than actually being at the game some times.

If you want an amazing plasma, get the Pioneer Elite. That is the best tv on the market. They specialize in having the deepest blacks and the truest colors. Its pricey, but well worth it. The picture is designed for a darker room, as the tv is a bit darker pic. Beware with the burn in. If alot of action movies and sports will be watched, then either a plasma or a 120hz tv are a must. The plasma is actually above the 120hz because its a gas. The new LG Scarlet, is 120hz, a samsung, and a sony are all pushing there new 120hz teles.

I have no complaints whatsoever with my 42" Vizio LCD. I know it's a low end TV, but for what I paid for it (900 bucks a year ago), I'm very happy. I bought it at Sam's Club. They also have other brands, and don't diss Sam's/Walmart till you price compare model for model.
