Gas Goes Down = Crazier Drivers
Gas Goes Down = Crazier Drivers
I went out this morning, and I was doing 5+ over the speed limit, and I was passed by 2 cars on my own road, and when on the highway, no one believed in doing the speed limit or even around it.
Gosh... I can't wait to see this winter... 9 times out of 10 AWD cars/suvs will not help you get out of our 4-6 ft ditches.
Seems as when the gas price goes down, the more reckless people drive. I guess they like to mash the gas and figured they used to spend the same amount driving carefully, now they can get away with flooring their vehicles around.
I had this dude in a Ranger like 2 ft from my tailgate, and he got really mad and floored his Ranger and as he was flying down the road doing like 85+, he almost went off the road!
Got them all in my log book. It's getting quite fat and plump. I really want to install some dash cams or something with somekind of elaborate radar system to display on the camera how fast the moving object is in relation to my truck's speed.

When I first record them, I write them out on a nice table on a clipboard in my truck. When I then get some time on my hands, I will type them into my MS Access database, which then I run queries and all sorts of nifty reports.
So far I've caught 1,397 offenders since last year at exactly at May 19, 2007.
Some of the fields in which I have are license plate number, make, model, color, date and time, location, and a few other identifiers.
So far, I've gotten about 29 of the same license plate numbers in multiple (2 or more) occurances.
The data is quite interesting.

A different hobby is in order here. Capturing data about others, regardless of your motive is an invasion of privacy.
I do wish everyone would slow down, so our fuel consumption would be lower, thereby scrowing OPEC into the ground.

Plus, it's public data. Anyone can go into a parking lot and grab a bunch of license plate numbers. Why about security cams?
There's nothing wrong in what I'm doing.
Plus there is a bunch of online plate # databases online where they have people like me enter that data into that. Then people can go in and do searches and see if they come up.
I am looking forward to 2 things.
1: You running your own stupid *** off the road when trying to write down damn license plate numbers and not paying attention.
2: People start to realize on multiple accounts somebody in their town is reporting drivers and several at the same time, and they discover it's you and go after your sorry ***.

That won't work - I got pulled over last March for doing 81 in a 75 on I-94 in the middle of nowhere on a clear dry day.
