You can do either or but yeah, let it go a summer first. You want all the green out first. Nice job btw

 

I've never been able to get treated to stain evenly. They will hold paint for about the half life expectancy of the paint.
Cedar stains much better. But I've had two different places with fences and always went with the treated. The humidity here really affects the cedar much more as far far as warping.
