I don't think it was that bad, once again you asked both canidadtes questions that could be answered in one sentance and they take 12 minutes to do it.

Q: "Do you think we shoule pursue AL Queda in to Pakistan?

A-Obama: "Well you see the thing about pakistan is that we can get anything done without fixing our economy, blah blah blah."

A-McCain: "Well about going into Pakistan we need to cut government spending and blah blah blah."

It is so annoying. I just wish for once a Presidential Candidate was man enough to just answer the debate questions. When one says this and you don't agree....debate him! none of these debates have been debates, they are questionand answer partys.

Og, with all due respect, Raptor voted in the poll I cited. Those numbers look fairly accurate.

Polls are a joke......

Fox always says McCain wins or is winning.
CNN and MSNBS always say that Obama is winning.

They are useless!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't pay any attention to them!

x2.

Couldn't take watching it all.

I found myself asking "Are these the best candidates?????"

My quick takes:

McCain was bad and missed a huge opportunity.

Obama still says nothing very well, in a way that makes you think he agrees with you. And he has gotten better at pretending he is middle of the road.

I forgot about it, but managed to catch the last 20 minutes or so of it.

The debate was very even this time, I can't say Obama beat McCain, or vice versa. While it the first debate, I think Obama KO'd McCain, this debate was much more serene- the candidates at times even complementing and agreeing with each other.

Every thing I've read tis morning seems to suggest Obama didn't gain or lose any ground to McCain over last night's debate, and since he's already leading McCain, Obama wins by successfully defending the title he won in the first debate.

I watched the entire debate and here's how I scored it. I'm only giving a word or two for the subject matter asked the candidates.
Bailout- Obama won
Economic crisis- McCain won
Sacrifices- McCain won- Obama didn't answer the question at all
Too much credit/debt- McCain won
Medicare/SS- McCain won
Environment/Green- Obama won
Healthcare- I had this a draw until Obama said health care is a right. I hate entitlements. McCain won.
US as a Peacemaker- Obama won
Pakistan Sovereignty- Draw, neither have a clue
Russia- Draw, neither have a clue what to do.
Russia, the evil empire- Draw
Defense of Israel- Draw, same answer from both
What don't you know- McCain won

Obama is by far the more articulate speaker. He's far more polished than McCain so if you're looking for another pretty face in Washington that will tell you what you want to hear- here's yer man. McCain is probably too direct with his answers to fit most folks that are accustomed to getting a blow job from Washington and sugar coated rhetoric. As far as points made in the debate, McCain won. As far as presentation of the points made, Obama won. Yeah, he's that slick. This debate, again, didn't and won't change anybodys decision about who they are going to vote for. Any voter on the fence is still going to be confused. McCain kept saying "check my record" like as if the American public would get off their lazy buts and actually do that. If McCain was looking for a boost, I don't think he got it. If the Obama camp thought they could wax over McCain, it didn't happen. As far as polls go, remember that Reagan was on the losing side of the polls when he was elected by a landslide. Polls mean nothing, absolutely nothing. When was the last time you were asked to vote in a poll outside of the internet? I rest my case.

I used to think the same thing, then for about three years, every week or two, I'd get called by Gallup, UPI, or some other opinion poll, asking for my opinion about everything from Preseidential candidates to Senators, and everything else.

While no poll will ever be 100% accurate, I think they do the best they can- with regard to trying to get a random sampling.

We started hanging up too, because they KEPT calling all the time...

We went from saying "Who do you know that's ever received a call from an opinion poll" to saying, "I wish these damn opinion poll peopel would stop calling".

Well, they say the young and the educated (College degree or above) are really feeling Obama, and (with regard to education) is a growing demographic in the USA. The last candidate that resonated with the youth of America (Clinton) won two terms when he was sagging in the polls on the first one, and by a landslide on the second one. Bush somehow managed to do that too- but I attribute that to a technicality in 2000 (Won electoral, but lost the popular vote) and in 2004 due to a rise in fear (terrorists/gay marriage) and ignorance (expectign things to improve with the same leadership).

I think we're seeing the last of the days when people vote one way or another based upon what their folks did or believed. I think many people today are weighing both sides, and voting for who they think is the best candidate, regardless of whether they have a (D) or an (R) beside their name.

Well I give the young a pass (young and dumb)

The educated? Ya.....many of them are also the ones leading our corrupt businesses...(they must have been brain washed by the liberal professors in college i guess)

Well, can't argue with you there...

I guess making good money makes one greedier, and the education makes them think they're smart enough to get away with it.

I'm in agreement with you that educated ones are more liberal, but I believe that is becasue of the professors. Attending college myself the professors cannot keep their damn mouths shut about poitics.

All in all I think McCain won, but I'm pretty biased in that when ever obama speaks I think he is wrong.
