The problem for me is that it did happen and I can see no way for it to fix itself without this or some similar major intervention by the Treasury and the Federal Reserve. My take is that it will not and cannot fix itself through the normal market correction process. There are only so many "Super Banks" that can buy up the failed banks and with the credit market frozen, they are having to go to the Federal Reserve to get money to buy the failed banks anyway.
