Mustang Guys

Hey guys,
Just bought the wife a Mustang GT. Looking for a good forum for some info, and any tips on some good mods.

Right now it is almost stock, it came with a JBA Exhaust.

Looks like the ole F-150 is going on the back burner. LOL.

The modifications are endless. You might want to hide your credit card Supercharger, short shifter, suspension kits, body kits, interior, etc, etc.

Nice Mach 1!

Its a 2006 with the 5 speed auto, Vista blue with black hood, and hood scoop, and black rear spoiler.

CAI and tuner are first on the list, not sure I like the JBA exhaust, its a bit on the quiet side.

She is game to supercharge it, but that is going to wait until next fall.

What CAI's work best with the 3v 4.6?

Probably going to get an Xcal3 with VMP tunes.

Ha. Alright, well what blower do you want and are you certain you're going to do it?

I'd start with a Xcal3 with VMP Tunes () and a C&L Racer with 88mm maf tube. Just get them both from Justin. I don't know anyone else who will sell the C&L like that ... It will put down the most power. Than you could get CMCV delete plates and Underdrive pullies from Steeda which are worth about the same. about 10 hp, 6 rwhp. Than you could do a O/R X and that'd gain you about 4 rwhp and it'd make your JBAs sound a lot better, it's $150 from Brenspeed.

If you're certain on supercharging, don't do the CMCVs or UDPs as you'd be removing them anyways. As far superchargers the best kits out there are the Saleen, Whipple, and KB. The Saleen is VERY reliable and efficient compared to the other two.

Short throw shifter is a very good mod for the S197s. There is only one choice. MGW. It's by far the best shifter out there. What kind of rear spoiler is it? I've got a GT500 spoiler I'm trying to get rid of and don't want much for it.

Anything else you need to know, ask it.

We are going to detail it saturday, so I will have some pics to post.

I think I even have her talked into a bikini shoot, if it is warm enough out!

Thump, I was looking at the Saleen S/C's, but the wife drove around for a while yesterday, and I think she decided its enough for her the way it is for now.

Definately going to get the CAI for it, and some VMP tunes. Then maybe some UDP's, and such. We'll see after we get the CAI and tune.

What Mustang forums do you frequent? Stangnet?

Does the X pipe just bolt up in place of the H pipe? Is there any cutting required?
