I'm on Stangnet.com ... I used to be on MustangForums.com but don't waste your time. The people over there have IQs of about 4. It's ridiculous some of things they post. It's like the whole forum is made up of Matinqueers.

The X pipe will just unbolt from the exhaust manifolds and than the mid pipe. So no, there's no cutting required as far as I know. I'll let you know on Friday since mine will be here.

LOL

Is the X pipe supposed to add alot of sound? I am not very happy with the JBA exhaust, it is too tame. My truck is louder.

Also, I was looking at VMP is this the package to get?

Says it has a 95mm maf housing.

Also, will the X pipe need to be tuned for? If so, I want to get everything at once to save some on a retune.

I was listening to some 4.6's with cams. That is a nice sound!

Yes, the X Pipe will make it sound a LOT better. It sounds CLOSE to the 03-04 Cobras. Basically thats the package you want but you will want a 88mm maf tube. Just call Justin and see if he's got any in stock. Just tell Justin to turn off the rear 02 sensors, he usually does, and you can get the X Pipe whenever you want.

Also, all of the cams out on the market, suck. All you gain is WOT performance, no part throttle power. It's a lot for the sound.

Why the 88mm maf tube? Whats the benefit? Just curious, I have no clue.

Will the X pipe be an inspection issue? We have emmisions inspection here in NC.

Ooo, no go on the O/R X Pipe. It deletes the cats and you'll need those !!

I'm running SLP LMs as tips, they are just muffler deletes. Than I had Magnaflow Magnapacks welded up as a mid muffler system and it sounds great. So you could do the Magnaflow Magnapack exhaust system and it should sound about the same. Let me think about it for a little bit and I'll let you know what you should get as far as exhaust.

The 88mm maf tube just makes the most power. The "Street" C&L intake has a MAF tube that is too small. The "Racer' C&L intake has a MAF tube that is too big. So the 88mm is in the middle and makes the most power for a bolt on car. I know of some guys running the 95mm MAF tube on a Saleen blower !!

svtperformance.com is a good site to try out. Lots of info on all mustangs and alot of other Ford products. ThumperMX113 is right on with the mods you should look into first. Cold air kits, underdrive pulleys, exhaust and tune have pretty much been the norm from the start. You could also look into switching out the rear gear, 3.73's work nice and don't really kill your mileage to bad. I've done alot of work on a good friend of mine's 01 Bullitt.... Novi 2k, forged internals....all the good stuff, anyway, he had the Magnaflow Magnapacks as well with equal length long tube headers..........MEAN!!!!!!!!!

Gas mileage? LMAO, I drive an F-150, and my wife has the Mustang GT. Apparently gas milage has never been a real concern.

But, really, the mustang will only get driven about 20 miles/week typically.

Thump, that exhaust looks sweet. The JBA'a are 2x the size. I need to find a sound clip of that.

The JLT II CAI with an X-cal tuner will give you the best rwhp results. Combine that with a cat-back exhaust system and some headers and you're money.

www.allfordmustangs.com is pretty well visited and if you're not afraid of what some people might say www.mustangmafia.com is always good for a laugh.

Everything I have read says the C&L gives the best results........

The difference is probably minimal though.

What about an X pipe with High flow cats. Would that be worth the $$$? Any performance or sound gains?
