My thoughts and prayers are out to everyone who was involved in IKE.....I live in Nederland/Beaumont area. My house wasn't damaged too badly, but my mother's parents and father's parents both got 5'-6' of water in their homes, they lost most everything, we have been trying to save what we can. They are both in their 80's and can't take too much stress. A lot of families lost everything around here. It's hard to believe that this is happening, it's really a mess around here......

Just think boys and girls its hurricane season so be prepared.....
Been there done that, survived Katrina after 6ft of flood water and muk wiped out our home of 30 years. $100k later and we were up and running again, last year I sold the house for $200k to the school board and moved north, we went from 7ft below sea level to 117 ft above sea level in just 30 miles, now I no longer have to worry about flooding or hurricanes too much, just tornadoes.

I need to get my flood insurance going next month! I don't think we fall in the 100 year flood plain but I'd rather be safe than sorry. I'm waiting for my tax return since we just bought a house.
