Umm, there are quite a few differences between the Egli in your link and the bike you originally posted. Notice where the turbo dumps out on your bike compared to the Egli, plus the pipe shielding is much different.

As stated before, you can run the VIN at www.buykawasaki.com and pics of the wheels, rear suspension and bodywork would help in identifyng the year.

If you can't figure out how to run the VIN, post it up and someone can run it for you (unless you think the bike is stolen, in which case disregard all the assistance you have received on this forum).

FWIW, there were several companies that made turbo kits for 4 cylinder Kawis over a 15 year+ period.

the bike i have is rather low and stretched out i know these 2 bikes are not one in the same but i think that is the same turbo setup but with a different down pipe for ground clearance(check out the header, its identical), mine doesnt have nitrous and is a little more modified then that one is, although it is possible the bike was re done, but doubtfull. the bike is at my dads shop so ill get pics when i can and as for the vin.....i think ill keep it to myself........you just never know

You won't run the VIN on buykawsaki or go to a dealer and have them check it for you? Why?

"you just never know" You just never know WHAT? Like whether the bike you are storing at your dad's shop is stolen? Is that what you might not know?

Let's summarize:

1) You have a bike in your posession but you don't now what it is and you have no paper work.

2) You won't check out the VIN

BTW, your police department or department of motor vehicles would be happy to run the VIN for you, but I am guessing you already knew that and you don't want to go there.

by keeping it to myself i meant not giving it out to you guys, i am going to get the vin and run it when i can....btw if your assuming that i stole this bike that is not the case, this bike was given to me by my uncle when he went to jail, he got the bike when some guy gave it to him as payment for rent. so thats what i mean by you never know

drew great find on that kz1000, ive been looking for a good pic of that bike, and just like half the bikes suggested its very similar but with all the aftermarket stuff on this one its hard to tell, and i think running the vin is going to be the only way, unless there are some more detailed pics

Glad to hear that you personally did not steal the bike. That, however, does not mean the bike is not stolen property.

A call with the VIN to your local authorities can put your mind at ease.

If you are the rightful owner, enjoy your project. If you are not, I hope you will at least take some steps to see that the guy who actually owns the bike gets a chance to get it back.
