Because its right. Religion is all made up stuff used by man to answer questions that he couldn't answer but now we have something called science and we are getting the answers. Why do people still believe in these ridiculous fairy tales in this modern day society. I think its cause you are afraid to go against what you were brought up with, fearing that it is wrong. Well its not wrong. Think for a minute. How all that ridiculous stuff could happen with no proof. The bible isn't proof. I could write a book right now about how I took the moon and threw it into the sun causing a violent blast killing all pandas on Pluto and people would beleive it.
You'll wish you hadn't believed that when you're thrown the pit of burning sulfur on your judgment day. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth in Hell, reminiscent to that of watching the Dolphins play football.

Millions of people believe in Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny. Does that make them real?

science is just firing off answers as we speak.
Er, there's a big difference between Scientists and Scientologists. By using the Scientologists belief as a reference though, you have just shown exactly what Christianity is. A belief in something written by man.

Written over 1600 years by people who weren't even close to each other geographically, and it is all whole and missing nothing.
Missing nothing? I don't see any dinosaurs in there but I do see a talking snake

The Bible was written by man. How does that make it true or real?
Please show me something that the Bible has accurately predicted. Better still, show me something yet to pass. I want the exact nature of the event and the date please.
Or, is it like the ramblings of Nostradamus? So badly written and vague that almost any event can be attributed to a certain passage.

Here's one prediction for you. One day a comet or meter will hit the Earth. It's happened before and the laws of chance say it will happen again.
Here's my made up "Bible" passage about it.

And there was a great fire in the sky. The earth shook and death was all around, The sky darkened an the people despaired saying "Oh lord, what shall we do?"

Wow, am I a Prophet? Is that real? Do I have a hotline to God? No. Of course I don't and neither did the men who wrote the Bible story.

Look, believe in what you want. Have faith in what you want. Neither of those things makes it real though. It's just wishful thinking.
If you had been born in the Middle east, you would believe in Allah. Had you been born an Aborigine, you would have an entirely different creation story.
It's what you were brought up with and conditioned to believe.
If it makes you happy, I'm happy for you.

The comparing of 2 fictitious characters that only children believe in to that of Christianity is grasping at threads. People grow out of the belief in those you mentioned usually by the age of 12, Christianity is usually something adults grow into. Try again

Science supports Christianity far more than it supports that of evolution. How many times has carbon dating been proven inaccurate?
Your argument that; you cant trust that written by man, with divine intervention mind you, also plays into my argument that your man made dating practices is inaccurate. Just thin of how may times carbon dating has been proven wrong, wrong by millions of years. The knife cuts both ways

Do a google search for dinosaur references references in the Bible, they are there.

Your arguments are based on a "Science" created by man to argue something, you say can't be trusted because it was, recorded by men. I fail to see how that follows any sound, logical reasoning.

People, for the most part, are a product of the environment around them.

Your comment is a crude generalization, missionary's have converted many in the Middle East to Christianity.

Point is we may not all agree, but I see no need to attack the beliefs this nation was built upon and that millions practice and believe.

As a Canadian I generally do not get involved with politics, but however after reading the news link.....one question comes to mind.

If this man has the healing touch, why is he just a presidential candidate?

Some of the smoke and mirrors in the campaings are pretty amusing.
