The latest Tundra problem...

Guy I share an office with at work has a 2008 Tundra. Silver extended cab (not Crewmaxx) 4x4, 5.6, loaded. Said the latest problem (besides the tailgates buckling) is that now the gas pedals which are fly by wire are dying.

Wow, Toyota really screwed this one up. Seems like almost every part of the truck has had some sort of mechanical problem. I love it!

That's what happens when you're in a hurry to try and steal the spolight from the industry leader. It took Ford years to perfect the F-150/250/350, and the Japs think they can do it in what... 3-4?! LoL!

Well, here's another little tidbit to chew on. Toyota announced yesterday that the Tundra plant in Indiana will no longer be making Tundras. It will be converted to a car plant. I don't remember the model. The San Antonio plant which is presently closed, will be putting on a Camry line and will have the only Tundra line in the US. Doesn't sound like much of a commitment on Toyota's part to keep the Tundra full size truck. Might just want to buy one for a collector piece--------NOT!

Frankly, its a good economic move. They realized their failure, and realized full sized trucks arent going to sell well anyways not matter what brand name it carries. Sure, Ford can dominate the truck market all day long...but that's not going to help their profits at all while Toyota destroys them in the one market that really matters right now: small fuel efficient cars.

thats probably why they are putting all their effort into making a full size fuel efficient truck i would take a 20+ mpg truck over a small efficient car anyday lol and im pretty sure that Ford dominating the truck market IS going to help their profits seeing that it makes HALF of their company’s profits

The days of full size trucks makin auto companies huge profits are so over, whether domestic or import truck company! Auto companies today need to be well rounded in many aspects of todays current market conditions & what the market dictates as needed by the consumer!............

cant really judge quickness by driving it alone. i romp on my truck and look down and im doing 60. thought i did it pretty fast. timed her with the edge and the quickest i can squeeze out is 7.9s.
