I see your point about my original post. I am glad I was able to better convey the point I was trying to make in my last post.

I did read the remainder of your post but probably didn't take it in as it was intended. I misinterpreted your statement about me being one of the people contributing to this bad image. I interpreted it as more of a personal attack. After rereading it and your last post I see the point you were trying to make and I agree. Once again, hopefully I clarified that in my last post.

As for the power trip, I agree with you there also. I was obviously speaking of the specific law enforcement authority given to me while on-duty. I would react the same way to any perceived threat to my home. Armed with a baseball bat, my Kershaw lock-blade, a screwdriver or whatever. The gun isn't my motivation but rather my desire to protect at all costs.

Alright. I'm going to have to stop agreeing or we won't have anything to argue about. Idle chat is fun but a good spirited debate is hard to beat. We should make this a regular thing around here.

There are several bad eggs in any given department, in my opinion it is the responsibility of the officers who serve alongside them to keep them on the right track...if not you then who will, exactly nobody. I swear if I end up in the field I am going to knock my coworkers around when I hear of the things I see (officers bragging to others about excessive force), I may not keep the job long doing so but I will leave with a positive conscience.

Remember the thread a couple of months ago where the Leo was giving the skateboarders a hard time. That was a funney video.
But the fact is that guy will never make it passed being a metermaid, simply because he was an idiot. He would be the one I'd be afraid of if they ever let him have a gun. If he ever is allowed to carry I hope he keeps his bullets in his pocket. He had to be Barney Fife's brother
