Yeah, thats right! Greenbay is offering him $20,000,000.00 to stay retired. Poor bastid only gets 2 million a year for ten years. What is the Packers email. I would love to send them a resume

Is he a ***** if he takes it? Is he a dumb *** if he does not? Please discuss...

EDIT Just found out on NFL live... Farve offered 25 million, and he is considering it.

He needs to play. He's better than 95% of all current NFL QB's even at 38 and soon to be 39 years old.

Hardly ... Favre is one of my favorite all time players but don't kid yourself.

I did the math...If Farve is better than 95% of the QB's in the NFL, that would place him as third best. Dallas would have creamed GB last year, lucky for them, Rogers came in and made it somewhat competitive. If Favre was REALLY still that good, they would have welcomed him back with open arms. Logically, we can assume that the powers at be in GB, feel that Rogers is better.

Please do not misinterpret this as Farve bashing. He's probably in the top five best QB's of ALL TIME. That could be debated though...

It's an insult to offer someone money not to play. That's like offering someone $10 to shut the hell up. I've always liked Brett Favre but if he takes the money I will certainly lose respect for him. That's selling out. If he comes back then it proves it's for the love of the game. Nobody turns down that kind of money to put their body through the punishment that players receive. I'd like to see him come back. In my eyes, he's still one of the best (past and current.) If I was in Favre's shoes and I decided to come back, I would have to be traded. At this point, with everything that has happened, coming back to Green Bay could be a bad move. Later in the season it could cause a lot of controversy.

$25 million is an insult? Man, I'd love to be insulted like that.

I don't care how wealthy you are, $25 million would get your attention.

IMO, Favre should have walked away at the end of last season. It was not a super bowl season, but he could have left on a high note, with his head held high.

I'm sure the adjustment to retirement would be tough for someone as competitive as him, but there are lots of opportunities for him to keep busy and many doors open to him based on his legendary status.

His skills, while still sharp, are not what they once were. Playing at a lower level will diminish his legacy, and there is always the potential for serious injury.

He's giving up a lot for this 'comeback'. I hope it works out well for him, but IMO he has made a bad decision and lost alot of the respect he had earned over his career.

Mine would be too if I were the best QB in NFL history, and Favre's large ego is completely warranted. Now go see how large Rex Grossman's ego is.

I really don't think Favre is that egotistical at all, compare him to Owens and guys like that, he's an innocent baby.

Very true. I'll never forget TO's tag line: I love me some me. What a douche. Hell of a ball player though.

I'm kind of with you on this but, I'm not sure it's his ego that is in the way but rather the entire way that he's continued to milk the media-frenzy. I understand a guy not wanting to hang it up after giving years and years of blood, sweat and tears but, there is a time and place to let it go and move on to doing Wrangler blue jeans commercials and real-estate prospecting.

Farve was incredible... a true joy to watch. His style, skill, and admiration for the game was all too obvious but, the recent turn of events has, in my opinion, kind of disgraced the game.
