Your lucky. My buddy broke his L3 and L4 racing his quad. Was in the hospital for 3 weeks and recovering for 4 months, 1 month in a full upper body cast. He paints cars for aliving. While he was recovering, someone stole his identify and nearly wrecked his credit. He made a full recovery from everything, took about a year. You are much younger than he was though... you'll get thru and be fine. Good luck!

Artic Cat 400. It had 149 miles on it. No damage since my buddies bent the back rack into place. The rack landed on my leg and bent it all to hell

Thats my bike, were you making a quick corner and the rear end got grip rather than slipping causing it to go over?

Was in a sandpit going up sideways and the sand gave out, I had no option but to cut it left and head back down. I turned it left and started going down but the rear wanted to go the opposite way, The front left tire dug in and the rear came up. Flung me off and the quads rear got 2 feet off the ground and slammed on my leg.

I heard a snap right away, but thought nothing of it, kept on riding and 5 hours later it swelled and I went to the ER

Doc: "you said you heard one snap?"
Me: "yea, one snap as it landed on me"
Doc: "you heard 3 at once"
Me: owned

You will have approximately 6 weeks to heel for the bone. Depending on what kind of surgery you have (open reduction internal fixation, etc) will determine the rehab time and how well you heal. You sound young and healthy. Just be motived and don't get frustrated with your physical therapy. you most likely will have muscle atropy and shortening of several muscles in the leg (TFL, IT band also). Just don't get discouraged on the rehab. Even though some exercises the PT gives you might seem dumb, beleive me they work.

Oh yeah i'm finishing my doctorate in physical therapy.

Like i said it all depends on how long you are in a fixed position for, what kind of fixation the surgeon does. You may or may not need it. Depending on the type of fracture, location, etc. Just a number of things play a role in the rehab process.

I have x-rays and such on disc, but I cannot convert them so I can save them to my computer and upload them. I know I have a spiral fracture-tibia and I have two bones in the ankle broken that need the screws and whatnot

ive done something kinda like that, i was riding my old dirt bike it was a CRF 150F came up on a triple that i had never done shifted the bike into 4th pinned it and came up short knocked myself out cause i cased it when i came back down off the rebound bike landed on me breaking my foot in 3 places right behind the growth plate luckily. he guy i was riding with was jumping into the pit saw the cloud of dust pinned his bike, a modded out CRF 250R, out got to me threw his bike, threw my bike off of me, and brought me back around. lucky he was with me.
Good luck with the recovery i didnt have surgery but mine took 6 weeks in a boot with crutches and a few with just the boot.
