all they can do is cross their fingers and hope the volt can save them if it's ever released. there was a special about this story on the news today and they said they would hopefully have it out by 2010

It's tough out there right now for the big 2.8, and this is part of the growing pains.
Ford bringing over their Euro spec cars like the Focus, Ka, and Fiesta will really help. Along with GM bringing over cars from Vauxhall and Opel should help out as fuel economy becomes king.
Assuming prices stay high or get higher, this is the new world we now live in.
