Haha yeah its actually a good thing where it relieves pressure on the faults. I don't think it really even did anything other than knock stuff off of shelves in some places and have stucco come off of walls haha

was not that big of a deal. i live about 10 miles from the epicenter. must be a slow news day because that is all that is on.....the sky is falling,,,,,the sky is falling....

I saw an expert say on the news that the fault pressure relief being a good thing is a myth. The big one's coming soon.

It wasn't a news expert, it was a geologist.

Same here. All 3 of my aquariums sloshed water onto the floor, but that was the only "damage" I experienced. I was really surprised that it was only a 5.4. I'm in Ventura, and it felt very strong here. It wasn't anything like Northridge was, but I'd say it was the second or third strongest I've felt since I moved to So Cal in 1978.

We had alot of shaking here, things fell off of shelves, some glasses fell over int he cabinets, lots of cabinet doors and droors were open, lots of water splashed out of my fish tanks, but no real damage.
