Okay, new updates. I was supposed to start my lessons in a 1961 C150 for $95/hr. Well, my dad did some researching and found an instructor for $200/hr at a towered field, from a FBO Flight School, who trains in a leather-equipped 1996 Cessna 172 (Nice!) so my dad said he'll pay for half, so basically I'm paying the same for a REAL flight school in a better airplane and a 14,000-hour instructor. He dosen't have any spots until the first week of Sept, so it gives me some time to save up some moneh.

The airplane is only as good as the mechanic that fixes it. But that 172 is twice the plane the 150 is. IFR equipped, GPS?

specs: 1996 Cessna C172R Skyhawk, direct fuel injection 160hp Lycoming IO-360L2A. Fully-IFR cert'd , GNS430 moving map, Bose Aviation X headsets in all 4 seats, complete 100-hour inspections, etc. fully-countoured leather seats with recliners, inertia reels and shoulder harness. at least now I know this plane will be able to climb and not struggle like the 150.

give me the n-number, lets see its history. When those 172's came back in production Cessna forgot how to make bug smashers, there are a ton of AD's on those. Still better than the 150 though.
