i have had type 1 since i was around 4 years old. i am approaching my mid 40's now.
i dont know how i made it out of my '20's' at all, but have been 'taking care' of myself since that time.
there is so much crap that goes into trying to figure out what your body needs
(stress, physical activity and what not) that its mind numbing.
this keeps you 'on your toes' always, but i am sure you are well aware of that.
i refused to consider having kids due to the fear of passing it on, but i eventually listened to my doctors advise, and had one anyway. my son has been clean so far (he is 10), and according to my doctor, since it doesnt run in the family, he has no increased risk of getting it in the future.
it seems like your head is on real straight, and i wish i could have said the same thing about myself when i was your age.
