Having used car checked by mechanic....
Hmm.. If I was a crooked mechanic and someone brought me a crappy car.. I would say sure.. its a good deal. They buy it.. 2 months later stuff goes wrong that I knew would, and they bring to me to have it fixed.
Ever think of that?
Ever think of that?
Or they would think you are a terrible mechanic because they think you didn't find any of the problems. Then they tell everyone they know that is looking for a mechanic that you are terrible, and you lose more business.

Are you high?

Well said, friend.
I ran a successful auto repair business for 16 years before I had to retire for medical reasons. Anyone stupid enough to try something like this yahoo suggested wouldn't last 6 months. You want to make sure your mechanic is honest? Come back a year later, and if he's still there and still busy, you're good to go.

no lol... I just trying to figure out why the mechanic my brother took his toyota corolla to didnt find half the problems he is having now. Just throwing out a hypothetical.
He took to the guy and the guy said it was in really good condition 5000 miles ago, now he is looking at a tranny rebuild and he is having missfire problems and a knock on acceleration. it has like 83,000 miles on it.
I've never had good luck with mechanics and think they are more crooked than car salesmen

I use to work at a coffee shop and next door was a used car lot with an immigrant guy that owned it... I could tell you some stories.. Selling cars bluebooked at 4000 for 9995... Goes to show that some idiots don't do their homework
Banks won't give a loan for that... The only way to get screwed that bad, is to pay cash
I believed the dude... he was a creeper.. He would drink a red eye.. straight coffee with espresso, aka... heart attack in a cup. And don't most people pay cash for used cars?
