P1405 Code

I hooked up a code reader to the truck the other day cause the check engine light was on and it came back with a P1405 Code. It said the Differential Pressure feedback sensor upstream hose off or plugged. What is the differential pressure feedback hose?

No problem man. One thing I will add is sometimes the EGR isnt bad but 1 of the 2 hoses that goes to it could have come loose or developed a leak. If the hoses check out then it is the EGR and thats only 2 bolts to replace. Im thinking you can get a new one for 80-100 bucks or so.

What is the best way to check for leaks in the hoses. I havent ever had to check for leaks before.

You can get a hand pump vacuum guage and place it under vac for a couple minutes at a 5 PSI. If the PSI slowly drops you have a leak. They sell kits pretty cheap that come with a variety of hoses and adapters to work on about anything. Sometimes you have to remove these hoses to test them and sometimes you can leave them on. Try to pull a vac and see what happens, if you cant you will probably have to clamp the hose off or take it off to test it. Truth is it is probably the EGR itself as it is a common Ford problem, but would hate to buy a new one then find the hose was loose or had a hole

Here is a picture of a vac similar to the one I use for testing

I think I bought mine for all of 20 bucks at some discount auto parts store
