This was just all bad :-(

Couple hours ago, at a major interesection, in front of my work;

I scrambled to take this shot, while parked at the red light, through the passenger window of my car. The driver was fine {he was standing on the sidewalk talking to a police officer}.... probably wearing his seatbelt, and if you look close, you can see that the airbag did deploy.

But it gets a lot worse. My light turns green, and as I make a left turn, I look behind a firetruck (parked just to the left of this photo) and behind it, sitting on the sidewalk, was a Hyundai Sonata that the F150 had hit square center, on the passenger side !!! Still worse, they had a stretcher out with somebody on it, and at least two kids sitting on the sidewalk.

Of course without having been there, I can't say who ran the light, but it was obvious that somebody did, and people were hurt. I just hope not too seriously.... But look at the front of this F150 {I've often heard F150 owners talk about how they hit something and tore it all up, and barely damaged their truck} then imagine the doors on a Hyundai :-( I know ! I own one of those too !

Just a friendly reminder..... We are driving a "potential 3 ton wrecking ball". Of course we don't want to wreck our trucks, but in reality, it could be INFINTELY WORSE than that !

Please drive safe.

Fish

Like you said I hope everyone's ok

I've got to admit though, it's pictures like these that remind me how well built our trucks are built.

Hope insurance has him covered. Look at the doors and window, not a scratch! Albeit expensive, its repairable

After being in an accident a week & a half ago, I wouldn't have expected my front end to look the way it did after being pushed into a Jeep Liberty. From a looks standpoint, the Jeep came out better.

Looking at the pics Fish Chris posted, and Budha's pics(glad you're ok bro!), I'd say that the F150's both sustained exactly the kind of damage you want them to sustain in higher speed collisions. Both have 'crumple zones' that did their jobs very well, leaving the cabs completely unscathed. I feel bad for the Hyundai passengers though. A side impact collision with a truck or suv is the worst case scenario for any car driver.
