OBD scanner for my laptop?

I did some checking online and I see lots of sites selling adapters and also software to turn your laptop into a OBD scan tool. You guys got any links to a reputable site that has all I'd need to turn my laptop into a scanner that reads ABS info and all the rest? (must read ABS) It looks like from what I see online, the stuff to turn your laptop into a scanner is less expensive than the dedicated handheld scanner. I'd also like the ability to read from either GM or Ford vehicles if there's any difference. Also something I can keep updated with the latest codes and so on for future car purchases.

Any help on this?

Thanks!

I am also looking for a setup like this.

I already have the cable and software for our Jetta, but it is harder to find software that can be used on these Ford F150's. http://www.ross-tech.com/

Lets hope that we are one post away from finding a good product.

I should hope that in 2 years the OP has managed to fix whatever issue he was having or found a way to pull codes.
