Vette - There is no question here.

It's a race car with working blinkers, AC, etc.

The 'stang is a steet car with a big motor.

But like previously said - they are both sweet.

I'll take the GT500 and dump the money that I saved on it into the car to destroy the Z06. Stock for stock, the Z06 will eat it's ***, no doubting that. I saw someone mention the ZR1, they are already going for a little over $200,000 ... It's in a little different league. Regardless, I'd take the Ford GT over it, with the money that I saved I'd dump it into the motor. Take it to Stage 6 and have twin turbos put on it. 1400+ rwhp / 1200+ rwtq.

I would take a v6 mustang over any new vette I have always hated the looks of the vette and after 20 years+of only slight body upgrades it is as stale and unexciting as a minivan ok it goes fast so what there are plenty of cars that go very fast that I would prefer over the vette including the Nissan gtr any upgrade mustang or for that matter

i have seen one of these in action and it is awesome little pricey but still awesome and it stirs me far more than any chevette oops I mean corvette can other than a classic 65' ray . JMHO and .02

as a ford guy, id take the vette...why you may ask? because everybody mods the mustang to look like a gt500. you see them everywhere. its not a head turner. there isnt thousands of V6 vettes running around either like the mustang. if the gt500 was a totally different car then the other mustangs and actually had a unique look, id consider it. plus the z06 out performes it. seems like a no brainer to me.

Reading it... They say the gt 500 does the 1/4 in 12.9 that is what my lightning does on a hot weather day at 4900 lbs. There was a gt 500 at the track two friday nights ago,I know the tuner he tuned it with a pully giving it 80 more hp and 13 mph more on the 1/4 mile. It was runninmg 11.3- all evening with a stick. It was so hot the baromatic preasure was equal to 1,800 feet elevation. Everyone was running at least 1/2 second below average. so that writer says it was 12.9 with a stick.... poor driver?

No kidding. I thought that was a little funny. I know a guy with a VMP 93 octane mail order tune and a K&N intake that is running 12.8s consistently at Orlando Speed World which is known for poor track prep. Now he's got shocks, springs, and an adjustable panhard bar and he's running 12.7s consistently.

It runs a 12.9 because it can't hook up. I'd take the Z06 for handling alone. Not having an independent rear suspension is absolutely rediculous.

Can't hook? It can hook up fine with the proper driver, stock anyways. I'd much rather have a straight axle than an independent rear suspension. It's built for the track. The 8.8 is a great differential and combined with 31 spline axles, it's a great unit. It's not good for racing road courses compared to independent suspensions. Well, I take that back look at Agent 47 and their SLA or even Griggs Racing's SLA suspension set-ups. Griggs Racing's set-up is running 1.3 gs consistently with peaks of 1.6 gs or something crazy like that. The kit was tested extensively against a Porsche GT3. The only reason why I'm mentioning that is that the Z06 is definitely going to cost more money. Now don't get me wrong the Z06 is an amazing machine. It's the only Corvette that I'd ever own.
