Is there a lever to relaese the gears where you can free wheel the cable out? If there is try ingaging the lever in and out this may free up the gears if they are bound. The clicking may be the cellinoid working but the drive motor is not? ,Just ideas..

the lever is in the engaged position. I moved it from engaged to free spool several times to see if that would do anything but it didnt. When i hit the button the motor doesnt turn at all the cylinoid just clicks but doesnt engage the motor.

check the leads going to the motor. may be the motor has died.

doesnt mile marker have some kind of warranty service? if they do, do you still have it?

Check your ground wire to the motor. If not that hook jumper cables directly to the ground and to the hot post on the motor. If the motor runs you have a bad cylinoid thet still clicks.

Yeah it is only about 3 weeks old so it is still under warranty. I just thought i would ask on here to see if anyone may have an idea of what it was.

is an electric winch sealed so it will work under water or would that cause it to short out? I don't think it was under the water but I just thought of it.

It should handle most splashes and a brief stint on a river crossing. But if it was completely submerged for longer then a minute or two it might leak.
