Met a guy from Houston today....
Met a guy from Houston today....
...so I thought I would share this since most everyone here seems to be from Texas.
The client was relocated here to Ohio and was having some issues with his new purchase from the company I work for. The issues could not be worked out through the normal channels so I was asked to step in and work with this client. While discussing his concerns (about 3 weeks ago) the situation began to get a little out of control and turned into a very heated discussion. I stood our ground and would not give into his concessions being demanded based upon assumptions made. An ultimatum was given to me to either give in to the demands or we will take our business elsewhere. Well, being the tough market that it is I should have given in but because of the silliness of these assumptions I figured this guy must be bluffing as most do. Sure enough, a week went by and I heard that he had made his appointment to sign all docs for final purchase.
I was notified through our field while the final inspection was going on that the client was literally nit picking the product to shreds. His nit picking was a direct result of our conversations and not getting his way, boo hoo. So, again I had to deal with this situation and am still dealing with the situation. Basically, I'm going to have to give this client something otherwise he'll never shut up.
Here's the whole reason why I wanted to share this with you guys - As I was walking out to my truck he says "That's a damn nice lookin' truck! I see a lot of those in Texas but yours is really sharp!!!". I just said thanks while lmao inside thinking to myself "Yeah, that's right looks better than the Texans trucks, uh huh, that's right!!!
". Anyways, after that was said I don't think he's as big of a a hole as I first thought.
Well anyways, to me, it was probably one of the best compliments I've received seeing as how he comes from a truck state.
Later,
how do you spell Huston, Houston, ????

Being in the biz, this is what gave it away for me.
At one point, my job was to take the punchout lists and fix someone else's shotty work before the owner's would close on the house.
