I found it funny they came up with a name for it and probably a pill to follow in the future, but I also found it quit sad. It’s basically the lack of empathy and compassion from people. We just don’t give two **** about anyone. Here in CT there was some big news about a guy who got hit by a car. The news wasn’t about the accident it was that they caught it on a security camera and for 15 minutes cars drove around the guy laying in the middle of the road, pedestrians just looked and walked by, no one stopped! I believe the guy died. That just makes me sick to my stomach that the hundreds of cars/people that saw or walked passed couldn’t even make a 1 minute phone call to the police to help this guy. Then the other day I read a story about a homeless guy getting beaten to death by some kids. Again it was on a security camera – people, who walked by stopped, looked over then kept walking. Finally some guys who were working in a near by garage came out to help the guy, but it was too late. Broken ribs, ruptured spleen and a host of other injuries. Everyday I come across a situations where people make a decision to NOT help someone or just be a little courteous – go ahead let the door slam in my face, I understand it’s just way to much work and effort and a strain on your time to hold the door for 4 more seconds for me. And the really sad thing, I believe I’m one of the good guys, I go out of my way to help others when I can, I’ve changed flat tires, jumped dead batterys, pushed stuck cars, carried a wheel chair across an unplowed road, held doors, let moms and elder folks go ahead of me in line, for total strangers just because I think it’s the right thing to do…. But I’m getting tired of all the other people, maybe I should just be a selfish, rude, mean, blind to all, jerk as well.
don't give in to temptation fight the urge there are too few of us as is

For a guy who talks so much trash one would think you could take a joke.

For a guy with a sense of humor one would think he would know a joke when he sees it. Sheesh.

Back to the original subject........Empathy and compassion as well as respect, should be a part of everyone's daily life. I pride myself in the fact that I have it. Unfortunately. I see way too many people that don't. It's a sad world we live in that people only care about themselves.
