So I ask you...
That's pretty good man, especially if you found a seller that gives 'free shipping like this guy:

I should buy stuff from this guy and have it shipped to my friend's US address.
Thanks for the idea.

i cant pull up ebay from work (assinine filters....:O), but that sounds like one of the vendors Ive bought from..
Uhhhhh... what rock have you been living under? Hasn't been 5 bills in awhile. Now go get one slacker!
Hey, hey, hey. If you want to feel important, BOSE is the way to go. At least it sounds important. Haters. :o - Og
I love my blue ray, I will say if your going to do it dont skimp on the hdmi cable either. I bought an average cable and then the 150 dollar cable for comparison and was going to take back whichever was not worth it. The $150 had a lot less distortion and "noise" but for me it was worth it. The average one was more then adiquate though either way I will no longer watch anything other then blue ray movies!
if you REALLY want it to sound better, I use an HDMI cable for video only (now this is through my ps3 mind you...) and use an Optical cable for Audio...the difference in sound from a DVD to a Blu Ray is unbelievable, no joke.

release the damn blu-ray movie on the same day the standard dvd is released.
When they wait 2-4 weeks, it's too late.
Habibi's already been to the video store, watched the movie, which even though it's not Blu-ray, is still 'not too bad' after it's been upconverted.
So when I'm browsing in Bestbuy 4 weeks after I already saw the movie, and then I see the Blue Ray version on sale at a paltry $42,99 + 13% taxes, I say to myself:
"bleh, the moment has passed"

Not to say you didn't see it, but the odds on not in your favor. HDMI passes data digitally so there is no chance of "noise" in the signal due to the cable. You are seeing things my friend. There is ONE possibility... cable length.
BUZZZZ! Wrong answer. The data flowing through the HDMI is exactly the same as it is via a toslink (optical) connection. It sounds the same unless your reciever is doing something funny.

I did however find this:
These are excerpts from http://www.ultimateavmag.com/news/020506hdmi/ By Shane C. Buettner
“On HD DVD and Blu-ray both codecs will boast lossless coding for up to eight discrete channels of audio at resolution at least as high as 24-bit/96kHz. The catch is that the new codecs will only be carried digitally in their native form over HDMI 1.3."
"HD DVD is also spec'd to carry up to eight discrete channels of uncompressed PCM at resolutions up to 24/96, while Blu-ray is spec'd to go all the way up to 24/192.”
Came out before HDDVD bit the dust but it seems to be that HDMI will actually produce better sound with Blu Ray...
Seems your right, was reading on a raging debate about this and it seems there is ZERO difference in sound quality between Optical vs. HDMI.

Anywho, just remember folks - if its digital it just about doesn't matter what crappy cable you use. The data is there or its not. In the analog world, the cable is king and interconnects absolutely DO MAKE A TREMENDOUS DIFFERENCE.
