"Performance Automatic" Transmissions

Have any of you fine citizens dealt with a company called "Performance Automatic" for replacement trannys?

I'm looking at buying the PA26101 Super Streeter C4 from Summit or JEG'S and would really like to know if any of you have strong INFORMED opinions about this company. I'm NOT looking for opinions on whether or not to go with the C4 vs. other options.

Thanks.

I've never dealt with Performance Transmissions but I did put a Jasper automatic behind a friends modded Hemi. Might want to give them a look as well. I don't know what he paid for the thing and I assume that it wasn't cheap but it looked just like a new one and it's holding up well to the brute torque of the Hemi.

If your engine is stock and will remain so, it's not rocket science to build a good one. If you intend to boost the HP, I'd suggest talking with the folks at Jasper to build to meet the requirements of the engine.

What are you putting this in and what engine?

It's just going back in the 69 Stang and the engine won't be much over 250-300 hp when it's done. Keeping it mostly stock with just slight mods to the 302.

I'll check out the Jasper site.

Thanks for the info.

look at redneck performance out of abilene tx. I bought a built C-4 w/choice of TC. Great price, great tranny. They sale on ebay. Check them out before you buy elsewhere. Your money, my opinion.

DISCLAIMER: I am in no way associated with redneck. Just a past customer passing on a transaction that i was very happy with..

I actually did look at these guys on eBay. The problem is that I didn't find exactly what I'm looking for in their listings. I don't want a full blown racing tranny, and really don't want the full manual with reverse shift pattern. I will however give them a call this week and see if they will just go through mine and beef it up slightly and leave the Auto/Manual setup the way it is or if they have one like that already for purchase.

Thanks for the info. It's nice to hear actual testimony for a company. I'll let them know you recommended them if I buy from them.
