I try to remember the five tenets of News
(Who, What, When, Where, Why)

Who - Obama
What - comments on absence of black fathers
When - Sunday, Father's Day
Where - A predominently black church
Why - Father's Day + Black audience + Obamas' own father/son background.

Had he been speaking at a public rally, perhaps calling out 'black' fathers or ignoring other races would be grounds for vigorous debate.

I think if the guy farted, people would bemoan that he didn't ****.

There's no point in going after Obama about this. I didn't read the transcript, but I suspect that Obama was doing the right thing. Spend the political capital highlighting Obama's weak points that matter!

Yeah, I think many of us are going to have to agree to disagree. While this is hardly a big issue Obama has a target painted on his back by many f-150 members and I don't see it getting much better around here for the Obama supporters

It's beyond me why the blind Obama supporters don't see him for what he really is.

Well, I can say I agree with every word of that post.

And between the lines there is good advice.
I intend to refrain from further political postings.
No matter what I read here, I will fight the urge to respond.

Wish me luck.

I'm not sure why when Obama says something like this he is praised yet Bill Cosby has been saying things along these lines for years now and he is constantly criticized.

WashintonPost.com-Cosby Defends Criticism of Black Community

Google search-bill cosby criticized

So now that it's coming from Obama the black community is going to completely change?
