Enough with the political rants!
It is the truth, nothing is going to change your life by who is in office. People should be more concerned with voting for local and state officials. These are the ones affecting you and the town you live in. Sad part is no one turn out to vote for these politician though..I just sit and laugh at the people on TV holding presidential signs and jumping up and down like they are on a surfboard.. Like anything these guys are saying are worth your time and anything to even get excited over.
Your first sentence is completely wrong. Your life WILL change by who is in office. I think you need a politics and econmics course ASAP.
In fact, you're the one who needs to ****.

Or more politely... If you see a political thread, and don't want to participate... then don't open the thread.. To tell us what to post or not isn't to democratic now is it? (see how I tied politics into my answer..

why? because your a obama supporter and you don't like it? I don't see anything wrong with it... someone let me know if it is over the top and I would be happy to remove it.
CNN and NBC are the exact reason that we have to talk about it.

. Like I said, local and state officials control my world, but I am sure you are one of those whiners that complain about everything and blame everything on the president just because you are a loser.
There have been amendments to the constitution in many states banning same sex marriage, while here in Massachusetts, and over on the left coast in California, same sex couples can now legally marry. A federal ban would change the lives of some people.
On September 11, 2001 terrorists hijacked planes from Bostons Logan airport, flew two of them into the Twin Towers, one into the Pentagon and caused one to crash in Pennsylvania. For about a decade before that date there were several terrorists attacks on American interests here and abroad that were considered law enforcement issues and were basicly ignored as a threat to our country. This was a day that changed my life. I'll bet it changed the lives of a lot of Americans.
Illegal immigrants have been flooding this country for a couple decades. Employers are exploiting their cheap labor and the government seems to be on the side of the employers. As a result, people who immigrate to this country legally and citizens of this country are devalued by the illegals willingness to work for low wages. In addition it's become apparent that illegal immigrents are costing tax payers a lot because of increased law enforcement issues, as well as other services they use.
On August 29, 2005 the catagory three huricane, Katrina, made landfall near the Louisiana/Mississippi border. It devestated large areas and left too many people homeless. The flooding tropical rains caused Lake Pontchartrain to breach levees flooding a large portion of New Orleans. This tragedy has been costing tax payers in this country since it happened. It's left a lot of people to suffer and a lot of people who take advantage of the situation.
These are just a few of the things that effect all of us and can change what happens in our lives. You're right, we do have to go on about our buisness, but the choices our representatives in the government make on our behalf can drasticly change our lives. I agree that our representatives at the local level have a more direct effect, but there are plenty of things that can change at the hands of our representatives at the federal level. That's whay a lot of us want to discuss it.
