I don't think most of you would be able to handle it.
America has about the blandest generic tasting food (in general) in the world so anything with a bit of oomph to it will seem like poison to you.

And you got to be kidding me. After 4 years stationed in England all I got to say is thank God for immigrants. English food is by far the blandest stuff ever. All the British friends we had over there loved our food.

This is coming from a place where they boil their beef and/or cook it well done and drink warm beer?

I can say with almost certainty that Adam has never been to Texas or New Orleans.

And you would be wrong. He did say generally. Adam probably travels more than any three of us combined.

After eating lots of bold fare from other countries, I tend to flavor food much more strongly than most of my friends can handle. Take the people here that think the perfect steak only has a little salt and pepper on it. Puhleeease! As a whole, we have pretty boring pallets.

My food resume:
Mother born in Italy and father born in Cuba
I lived in Puerto Rico, Chicago, New Jersey, Florida, Texas,
I have been to Europe 4 times.
I have been to Mexico, and almost every Island in the carribean.
I have eaten many types of food.

England's food is bland! So is Germany's

The US is a mixture of every type of food. We have every type of food available to us. How can you say its bland?

A Bacon cheese burger is about as American as you can get. I dont think it tastes bland.

Back on topic. When I get this stuff what should I put it on?

He wasnt saying English food has alot of OOMPH to it. He was saying any food. I agree that most english food is pretty bland, but america isnt that far behind. The few dishes that we call american don't exactly rank up there as real flavorful.

Yeah and English food is bland as well. Steak and ale pie is nice as is Fish n Chips with mushy peas, some Bangers and Mash but it seems the most popular food in the UK is Indian. I can't think of anything English with oomph.
Don't get me wrong I just got back from 3 weeks in Altrincham/Manchester and enjoyed several Indian dinners, a few Thai dinners some Italian and some Pub Grub. There are plenty of American dishes that are far from bland. Yes they are influenced by various cultures but are still American like Southwestern food, Cajun food, Soul food etc.

One thing I really like though is all the different potato chip (crisps) flavors over there. Yum.

just got back. Found it at whole foods. It was $5.99.

I still dont know if I like it. It has a consistency of honey but tastes like soy sauce with a strange beef after taste. I want to put it on some toast and try it the ways they recomend. But since I only have condiments, beer, and Jim Beam in my fridge I am not able to try it with anything yet.
