Appointment for Pre Op?

I've got to go tomorrow for my "pre-op" for my surgery on the 18th. The surgery is to remove the hardware in my back. But what the hell is pre-op?

its doctor talk for we are pretty sure that nothing bad is going to happen but there is this teeny tiny chance that when you wake up from surgery your rectom will itch like crazy for the rest of your life and your nipples may or may not wind up in a jar on the table next to you

jk thump its to go over the procedure and what you are to expect yada yada

and on a serious note good luck with all

After what he has been going through, I'm pretty certain he would gladly trade his misery for an itchy rectum.

They'll tell you when to stop eating and drinking, and what you can and can't do for the day or so before the surgery. And go over the potential risks.

But even more importantly, they can bill your insurance for an office visit and collect an extra $20 co-pay from you. These are the things your Dr. needs to do to cover his overhead and malpractice premiums.

Haha, good posts guys. I'm not worried about it at all, I can't wait to get it over. I'm just hoping I don't have to be laid up for a long time. I was more worried that it'd take longer than they said. My Roush bumper, grille, and rear spoiler is coming in today and they made it signature required. I better be back home before they show up !!

Who did you end going with to do the surgery? I remember in your other post that the cool doctor couldn't do the surgery.

Dr. here locally in Orlando, he's supposed to be good. I'll post results after surgery. I only have to spend a night in the hospital before I'm good to go.
