Small Cars/SUVs with dual exhaust...

A friend of mine got a Ford Fusion, and it's got dual exhaust... but it doesn't make any noise.

What the heck is the point of it? Heck, it's not even a sports car, and it's a v6, and....

Now I see a point on v8 Mustangs, v8 Grand Marquis, etc... But not some small v6 or let alone an i4.

Keep in mind cars dont have the large piping trucks do. The v-6 may require dual pipes to breathe on these higher revving motors

It's got 2 mufflers...

Like I said, I'm baffled on usefulness...

If anything you are losing lots of backpressure that creates torque.

Write his butt up, and show him the log. That should cure his crazy antics...

10-4...

I got it... log states:

Plate#: AF2045T Make: Ford Model: Fusion Color: Black Notes: Excessive quietness for dual exhaust. Car out-accelerates a V6 F150, which is illegal in the state of ManualF150's mind. Does not guzzle gas, which is also illegal. Does not use RWD, which is totally illegal... more illegal than smoking pot. --End of Log--

Basicly looks, Just like the Nissan Altima 2.5L and the Nissan Sentra Spec-V 2.5L. They are both 4 cylinder engines, They are both nearly silent, even at very high RPM's. I'm suprised the V6 Camaro's and Mustang's dident have dual exhaust...The Mustang GT dual exhaust accually sounded decent from the factory. The stock muffler was a bit restrictive though.
