New i phone Intel???

So I need a new phone and thinking seriously about an i phone because it has a lot of features I like in one package. BUT, I've heard there's a new version coming out like as soon as Monday possibly. I need a phone today, but trying to decide if the new one (if it's real) would be worth the wait or just go ahead and get one. Pricing would be a factor also as I'm already having a hard enough time paying for that sucker, much less if the new one is going to be a lot higher. Some things I heard...

-3G network will work worldwide. (I'm surprised the current one isn't already like that)
-Faster internet from both wi-fi and through the wireless signal
-Improved text capabilities
-Pricing will be the same as the current phone and this will make the current phone cheaper

Anyone else know any details or intel on this, or a release date???

I can't say much more, but I HIGHLY suggest you wait a week before you make any decisions. TRUST me on this one, you'll be happy you did

I would also suggest waiting a week. I've heard release dates ranging from the 9th through the 20th, but in either case, it's coming soon. Expect the price to be $199 vs $399 for the first gens, and that's to compete with the other smart phones on the market right now. There will be a live GPS feature, instead of the tower triangulation feature used on the current iPhone. And then there's the whole 3G thing... it's fast, it's nice, but you still need to have 3G coverage in your local area to get max use out of it. (ex - my area does not have 3G coverage )

the 1st gen iPhone was a great idea, but was rushed out to market imo. To release a smart phone that doesn't send texts to multiple recipients, doesn't allow for multimedia texts, and utilizes a network that was actually downgraded just so they could get it to market in time.... eh, probably not the smartest thing Apple's ever done. BUT, they did get their foot in the door, so to speak, and now after some revisions, should have a product worthy of all the hype the original iPhone generated.

I didnt think I would want one, but I played with one a few weeks ago and it was pretty slick. I would wait if all possible for the new version.
