Got a ticket, and...

So I got pulled over this morning for 58 in a 50 zone. I was a little late and should have known better in our small town. Anyway, the officer comes up to the window and asked "Do you know how fast you were going?" I said yep, 58. He said, "Yeah, you sound pretty sure." I pointed to the speedo correcting Edge Evo on the dash, and that was probably a mistake. He became a little aggrevated and went on a "tuners should be taken off the market" rampage. Anyway, WTF. Each driver can maintain their own speeds, regardless, with their foot. So why did this guy just loose it over a tuner? The Evo does not cause the truck to have a mind of its own...and if mine did, it was ask me to wash it more frequently. Anybody else ever had anything like this happen to them?

Never had any problems with LEOs and my edge evo. I can only think that he was abstractly referring to the trend of street racing tuned/modified vehicles.

You should have come back with "well it also lets me monitor all aspects of my engine so that I'm not spewing harmful emissions into our beautiful atmosphere".

The proper response to that speed questions is always,"I do not know officer, I was keeping up with the traffic and keeping my eyes on the road."

If it happens again just tell him its a GPS and you calculate your speed via satellite!

Man those petty tickets get under my skin 8 over WTF I seriously got one for 10 over on an empty highway, yes I was speeding but I had the cruse sat at ten over thinking who would bother me for 10 over on an empty 4 lane highway? I went to traffic school with some stupid girl that was doing 114mph on the freeway I almost go kicked out of class for my attitude when I heard that. I might add I was yes sir no sir when I got it and had a spotless record tell then as well as he took me out of the truck and had a honest to god 30 min talk about how dangerous speeding is, I though since I was young a talk and I would be let off nope 10 over dead on 10 over and sat in school with a chick doing 114

Apparently, some LEOs think the only reason you would want any extra HP is to street race.

Either that, or maybe he had a bad experience with one.

Never ever admit to speeding that easily unless you have a dead body under a tarp in the bed.

I have had more tickets than anyone I know. Anything from speeding, no license plate, no proof of insurance to street racing and driving my last F150 through some poor guys back fence and into his swimming pool (1979 F150) and I have learned that there are two good answers when speaking to the Police in regards to your driving abilities or equipment. Yes sir…and No sir. Don't give them anything else to work with.
