McCain a Liberal

Since there's so much Candidate Bashing going on, I thought I'd try to balance things out a little..

McCain is anti-Gun, Co Sponsering a Bill with Joseph Lieberman that would end Gun Shows.

He's Wants to raise your taxes, opposing extending Bush's Tax cuts.

He believes in Global Warming and says we need to fight it.

He's even Called Himself a "Liberal Republican"

He Doesn't seem to share the "Family Values" of many conservatives. Divorcing his wife after she was involved in an accident and hooking up with a 17year younger trophy wife..

Honestly, that says a LOT more about "character" to me than some preacher.

He's HEAVILY Involved with Lobbyists (perhaps "too" involved with a particularly young and attractive one)

He Even supported a Bill with Ted Kennedy on an immigration Bill that would have given illegal aliens a path to citizenship!

Yep -- the lesser of three evils.......

The best thing I could hope for out of a McCain presidency would be a couple of decent judicial nominations to the Supreme Court -- anything after that would be gravy.......

For one thing, lots of non-republicans did help pick him for the Republicans. Lots of cross over voting in the early primaries, which helped McCain immensely. His years of being a media darling and the cross over vote allowed in some states gave him a built in advantage.

In many respects, McCain got very lucky to get the nomination. The stars lined up just right for him this time.

In case you were not aware of this, many conservatives and Republicans DESPISE McCain for the reasons you mentioned, and many others.

We are really in a position of picking the lesser of evils this time. It's very disappointing, so please stop rubbing it in that he is our nominee.

I've gotten so tired of posting in these political threads that I've become lazy. I don't try to explain much anymore; and, I tend to just make wise cracks and statements that require further thought from those who read it. I'm glad somebody around here has views close enough to mine, that I can just sit back and read these things, and not get involved.

Yes, he's a liberal and that sucks!

I've been a Conservative republican since 1964 when I voted for Goldwater.

Sad but true. Either way he is a much better choice than Obama or Hillary

If McCain nominates a solid conservative for VP I will support McCain with emphasis on the VP because it will be the fastest way to take back the party.

McCain on O'Reilly!

I watched McCain on Bill O'Reilly this past Thu & Fri night! I am so not impressed with him! He would rather let Millions of Americans die in another Terrorist Attack on the USA, rather than use Water Boarding to extract useful info from a detainee to Thwart an attack that could save Millions of innocent Lives! As was done by the Bush Administration! He will not be doing "Jack Crap" in doing anything regarding sanctuary cities such as Phoenix Arizona, or against parasitic Illegal Criminal Aliens that are putting out Hospitals out of Business & sucking us dry! He has nothing for Big Oil Co's that are gouging us American Citizens! Oh yes, he also is a tree hugging liberal weenie, & is against any drilling in Anwar Alaska...to help out his own country! This guy will make things worse than what they are now!.........

I can tell you why McCain doesn't support water boarding... He was tortured for over 5 years as a prisoner of war! Being tortured day in and day out for years might give you a different perspective on torture. He of all people has first hand knowledge of torture tactics; what works and what doesn't.

The problem with that is waterboarding is not torture. There is no pain. It's just scary and the fact of the matter is it has and does work to save lives.
