I love how the U.S. is always first on scene to aid other countries when a disaster strikes, but yet it took how long for our Govt. to think of helping out with Katrina? And yet, its still not taken care.

That's BS. Our government was there all along.

WTF are you talking about? Maybe it has not been fixed to your satisfaction, but it was in fact a huge natural disaster. The gov't started throwing money at N.O. and the victims before the wind had stopped.

Below is a cut and paste from an article written about 3 weeks after Hurricane Katrina

"Bush's plans for post-Katrina redevelopment in fact go far beyond what Shalala has proposed. In addition to reconstruction of damaged areas, Bush has ordered that all adults affected by Katrina receive $2,000 bank deposits for food, transportation, gas, or anything else they need; that evacuees get $5,000 Worker Recovery Accounts for job training, education, or child care expenses; that displaced children get education vouchers; that small businesses be given loans and loan guarantees; that companies in areas deemed the "Gulf Opportunity Zone" be granted tax breaks and other incentives—and so on, and on.

Liberals and conservatives have both noted the message in all this munificence, and are fast turning the hurricane-damaged areas into a laboratory for a new round of big government ideas. Congress, seizing the opportunity to pander to voters, has introduced a massive $250 billion Hurricane Katrina aid bill—in addition to the $62 billion in taxpayer funds already allotted to relief efforts."

How about instead of helping out other countries we take care of our problems at home. Theres plenty of starving people in this country and there are still victims of hurricane Katrina whose lives havent gotten back to normal yet. How about instead of always worrying about other countries, we take care of our own?
Couldn't possibly agree more. F the rest of th world, they are a bunch of unappreciative ****** anyway. We have things at home that need takin care, let's start there. Enough of this liberal help all the victims BS.

Im all for helping out other countries when they appreciate it, but when you offer help and get turned away, I say just leave it at that.
I look at how the United States pretty much saved the world during both WW1 and WW2, yet so much of the world thumbs their noses at us and shows no appreciation.
I mean, if the USA hadnt stepped in, much, if not all of the world would probably be speaking German today...
It really irritates me that the USA goes so far out of it's way to be a good neibor and it seems like nobody appreciates it. They say that we stick our noses in things that arent any of our business, but when disaster strikes they sure arent ashamed to take our money and our aid.
