Hmmmmm..... Hard decision. I have both and use them both all the time. I guess it will come down to what you want to do with them. I have way more games for the 360 (plus the wireless adapter and the now useless HD drive), but the PS3 is catching up and I use it all the time to watch Blu-ray movies. Make sure you check out the release schedule for both machines and see what exclusive games are coming out for each. As far as graphics and controls, both are great and one doesn't really out perform the other.

The 360 will [I]not[I] be coming out with a blue ray add on as they did with the HD DVD's. What Microsoft is planning is to have movies for down load from 360 live, if you have enough ban width that should work fine. I currently play the 360 and do like the system and game choices.

Of course I don't play the sports games much, I figure that if I can go out and play the game myself why should I play it on a TV. I can't go out and kill someone, but I can go play football.

My family has a PS3 and my roommate has the 360. I like the user interface of the 360 more, but i think the system itself is junk. My roommate has had his repaired twice for the infamous "360 fire syndrome" and the games scratch at harsh vibrations (party). I think 360 has more and better games, but if you are gonna spend the money I would suggest the one that you wont spend as much time waiting to get fixed.

I vote PS3.

(I'm not saying that all 360's are junk. I guess my roommate just got a bad one. )

ive decided on the xbox 360. I will be getting it in mid june since i dont want to blow off all the work i have to get done in the next couple weeks. Xbox live was about half of the deciding factor. All the stuff i found out you could do like download movies, tv shows, demos, all that stuff makes it worth the 50 dollars a year plus market place points. Plus i was worried about the overheating thing, but they fixed the hardware in december to fix the problem.

Thats good. You probably did well to wait until after the Generation I consoles were all out of the warehouse. My roommate almost held off on buying one for that reason. If thats the case, then I think you will be happy with your purchase.

Microsoft just announced an add-on Blu Ray player for XBox 360.

I think some people get confused about what the consoles are now and what they will be later. PS3 has the potential to be a much better console than the 360 in basically every aspect (controllers are opinion based.) The PS3s potential hasn't been reached yet because developers haven't had enough time yet to figure it out. For whatever reason, it's harder to write and design the games for PS3 than it is Xbox.

FYI, Vegas as well as Vegas 2 are both available on PS3. I own them both. Has anyone else here played Uncharted: Drakes Fortune on PS3 yet? That game is awesome. Hands down my favorite game ever. The story plays like a movie keeping you interested throughout the entire game. Hell, it's jsut as good the second time around. In my opinion, it does what no other game has done that I've played before, and that is the fluid motion of the characters in the game. Whether it's just the movement of their mouth while they talk or the way they jump over obstacles.

PS3 all the way
As far as cost you get way more for your money w/ the PS3. for $349 you get only 20gig of memory w/ the 360 versus 40GB for the Playstation which is $399.
And the bluray player is Awesome! Online is great because its free! What more do you need online other than to play with one another?

Well,
First off I've had a 360 since day 2 [folks wouldn't let me go that night...and yah I know I have no life] that dang thing has broken three times since I got it and its currently sitting broken on the shelf underneath my TV. I personally think its still better than the ps3 though, unless your gonna be watching a lot of movies with it. The controllers on the ps3 are crap [imo and not the duel shock 3s] they have a ton of random blue tooth connection issues and it usually happens right when your about to do something really important in the game and the motion sensing feels cheap and tacked on. Although the ps3 online service is free, it has a tenancy to be slow and have poor connection problems. so all and all I say...

GET A Wii!

Enough with the hearsay, does anyone have proof the PS3's online play has connection problems and is not as fluid or great as xbox lives? Is xbox lives not free? (these are questions, not comments)
