the ending was the only half decent part of the movie LMAO the only thing that would have been better is if he was also at a gas station other than that it was kinda boring, monsters yawn, giant bugs yawn, people dying yawn come to think of it maybe i liked the ending so much beacuse the only original thought in the whole movie

You obviously haven't read the short story.

Originally written by Stephen King. The movie followed the story perfectly until they drive away from the store, up until they see the big one walk accross the road. In the story, they actually are able to stop for gas, and start hearing radio transmissions from some town (can't remember the name.) That's the end.

The movie... Takes a whole 'nother turn. The director spun the idea to King, and he went for it.

It was part of an anthology published in 1980... also revised and put into another short-story collection in 1985.

ok so i missed that one alltogether my bad but either way im not a big short story fan love the big epic length books i think that is where he comes into his own and movies are rarely as good as the book it was based on in fact none of them come to mind except maybe centennial and that was more like a series than a movie

I hear ya.. I just started the Dark Tower Series.. I'm way behind the times. I've been reading fantasy novels for the past few years so I haven't had time for King.
